The Roots of Environmental Concern

In the first step to construct a model of the development of environmental concern, theories of children’s understanding of environmental processes are moral development are reviewed. Connections between development in these fields and development of environmental concern are suggest. It is proposed that there are three motivations for environmental concern, which involve separate but overlapping paths of development.
